There is an article in the National Post today about a woman trying to have her Canadian citizenship application fast-tracked.
Bushra Halepota—a permanent resident of Canada—is using a obscure provision in Canadian law that allows citizenship applications to be fast-tracked if said person “provides services of an exceptional value to Canada.”
I don’t have an opinion on this as I don’t have enough information to decide, but it does expose some blatant—and not so blatant—racism. And, I’m not talking about the article.

Recently, Laura McGann wrote an article on Vox.com about the recently deceased George H. W. Bush and how an assessment of his legacy needs to include the allegations that he groped eight woman over his career.
Honestly, my first reaction was to immediately jump to the defense of 41. And as I writing an email to McGann, I was ready to let loose with reasons why she was wrong.
