Full Canopy

Full canopy cools
Their bed of terra firma
Dream until first light

Fault Lines

numb limbs
toddler rampage
and for what?
self-pity.

morning flares
path illuminated
’twas always there.
footfalls need be mine.

Light Slices

twilight remnants
sly orange peek
phrenic expedition
carpe noctem

Gardener

calloused hands
strikes his face.
bruises
prod.
second hand
pricks
incessantly.

ceaseless march
to oblivion.
never
the denouement.
cultivates
his
garden.
